Exile In Exile?
Everyone has asked where the hell I've been, so allow me to recap.
the County of Orange decided that it only wants it's employees to work between 6:30 am and 6:30 pm. Coinciding with their infinite wisdom they decided that all employees must work 5 days a week. The conflict between my commute, my schedule, and the idiocity of the County has resulted in leaving me delightfully unemployed. So now I'm going back on the market to find a job.
so here's the break down of what I've been doing~
Job Search: so far I've contacted the employment agency, and they're all over it. I've posted my resume on craig's list, and I've found two prospects for writing related jobs (that I should be responding to instead of posting).
Condo Life: I've called in maintenance and worked with them to make all the repairs necessary on the condo it's self. I've also been cleaning like a mad man, from the ol' dust & vacuum to scrubbing out the shower (and it needed it... Germs the size of turtles.)
Funds: In parting with the county I will be paid out for all my sick time and comp time, this means that I have an entire paycheck coming in, without work. Seeing as though my expenses have been cut on fuel it stands to reason that I can coast like this for while. With rent from my roommate and so on I should have enough time to find a job I will enjoy and that will be closer to my career (as opposed to just getting a job for a paycheck).
Internet Use: Unfortunately without an office to abuse for the internet, this means that I have very limited access to the internet. Actually, it wasn't until last night that I found I could grab a signal in my complex. So I have some limited access (so much porn, so little time.)
Girlfriend Stuff: I have to say that everything is going absolutely great, we're retarded for each other. I worked as her SAG (Support And Gear) for the 1/2 marathon, and, oh yeah, she took 3rd place in her age/sex division. Fuck yeah! For those not in the "know" this means she ran 13.1 miles in under 2 hours 11 min. I was playing pack mule for her by toting all her gear in my backpack. It's an incredible thing to see the woman you love doing the thing she loves. Tomorrow we're going to the long beach coin convention... Like I said, seeing the woman you love doing the thing she loves.
I think that pretty much sums up everything up until now. I'll try to be a little more attentive to my little internet pets.
speaking of my little pets, the news on the Herb front is good. I fed him a rat the size of a football last night so he's quite happy. Which is good, because if he gets too hungry he might just try and eat my Peaches.
